Radio Zibonele was established in 1993 in Khayelitsha Cape Town, as a home made radio station.
It was set up under the bed in an old shipping container truck. The container truck served as a clinic for Welcome to the new home of Radio Zibonele 98.2 FM.
We are proud to announce that we recently received a Community Media Achievement Award at The MDDA Sanlam Awards 0f 2015
Radio Zibonele 98.2 FM has got a very unique market; in the province of the Western Cape We are the only Community Radio Station that broadcast 80% of its programmes in IsiXhosa 24 hours a day in the Province. Level of education within the areas of our broadcast is relatively low, people tune in to our Radio Station as it is one of their powerful sources of information that is brought to them in language they understand. We structure our programmes to suit and appeal directly to this wonderful audience.
Radio Zibonele hosted its annual 9km fun run on the 5th of October 2014 at Lookout Hill.
This is time around we were joined by a huge number of participants from different areas of the greater Peninsula.
