Honouring the memory of Thokozani Mthethwa
After three continuous days of an extensive search for 23 year old Thokozani Mthethwa, a seasonal City Lifeguard who went missing in the surf during a rescue operation near Muizenberg beach, his body was found early Monday evening, on the shore between Sonwabe and Sunrise Beach. He fell off a rescue sled being towed by a jet ski while on route to assist a kite surfer in distress off St James Saturday, 28 November. The City expresses its heartfelt condolences to his family and friends, as well as his colleagues during this difficult time.’ This is the first staff member that the Recreation and Parks Department has lost in the line of duty. His life will be honoured among the few exceptional men and women, who sacrificed their own lives to save others’ said Mayco member for community services and health Zahid Badroodien.

Groot gebou vernietig in brand
'N Gebou met verskeie verdiepings was heeltemal vernietig in 'n brand wat vroeg vanoggend in Albertusstraat in die middestad van Kaapstad uitgebreek het.Volgens die Stad se brandweer- en reddingsdiens het hulle net 1uur vanoggend n oproep ontvang en 17 brandbestryders was in die toneel ontplooi en die brand was net na 06:00 vanoggend geblus. Bemanning het daarin geslaag om te verhoed dat die brand versprei en die gebou is as onveilig beskou. Geen beserings was aangemeld nie.

South Africa's coronavirus death toll has risen to 20,968, with 65 new deaths confirmed by the Health Ministry.In the past 24-hour-cycle, 2,080 new infections have been recorded, taking the total number of confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak to more than 769,000.The recovery rate is still around the 92% mark, which means more than 711,000 people have recuperated so far.

ARRESTS MADE BY LEAP OFFICIALS
LEAP officers who were out on patrol in Gugulethu on Saturday, 21 November ,conducted a stop and search of three suspicious looking males. One suspect ran away, and during the chase, threw an item away that was later found to be an illegal firearm. The suspect was apprehended. On the same day, officers patrolling Ncewula street, Brown's Farm, Philippi noticed a silver Polo Vivo with three males making a U-turn and tried to drive away when they saw the officers approaching. Officers chased down the suspects, who collided with another vehicle, and managed to arrest two suspects. An illegal firearm and ammunition were also recovered

Mshoza dies at age 37
Nomasonto Masangwayi who is famously known as Mshoza has passed away, the kwaito artist has died early hours of the morning due to a long illness she was battling with.
Mshoza was the most celebrated Kwaito artist in the country and social media has been buzzing with people sharing their tributes on how saddened they are by the news of Mshoza's passing.
The Kortes singer which was also her first debut started her career at the age of 10. In the late 90s she danced for the kwaito group Chiskop where she often stole the spotlight. She was a frequent guest in a show called Jam Alley that also certified Mshoza's star quality and got her noticed by her fans.
Mshoza leaves behind two kids, a daughter Pride Mnisi (10) and son, Junior Mnisi (8).
