The Minister of Community Safety, Albert Fritz, has welcomed the 228 arrests made by the Law Enforcement Advancement Plan’s LEAP officers in Philippi, Delft, Bishop Lavis, Khayelitsha and Nyanga. They were deployed through the Western Cape Safety Plan between 2 – 29 November 2020 and made these arrests through joint operations which include the City of Cape Town, the Western Cape SAPS and the Economic Development Partnership. These arrests includes charges relating to unlicensed sale of liquor, possession of ammunition and firearms, Theft and robbery,assualt,domestic violence,rape and sexual violence.
