WHO ARE YOU?
I am Sisipho Geni born and grew up in Cape Town (Khayelitsha) at 32 Makhaza section in the province of the Western Cape on 26 October 1998. I am the first born in the family of four children. I did my grade R to grade 5 at Intshayelelo primary school. In 2006 I had to go to Eastern Cape to finish my school from grade 6 to grade 7 and also moved from Eastern Cape back to the Western Cape to do grade 8 to 12 at Chris Hani Secondary School. Am that person who likes to play and laugh a lot I like helping people I don’t like to see someone suffering. At high school I was a class leader from grade 8 to 12.
POST SCHOOL JOURNEY?
After matric I did a course learning about theatre at Rainbow Arts in 2017 because I love acting so much and I performed in many places.
WHEN DID YOU DISCOVER THE RADIO TALENT IN YOU?
When I was 12 years old in 2010 I use to take my mother’s cellphone and record myself and stand in front of a mirror and pretend to interview my sister and everyone at home that’s how I can say my radio talent was discovered.
Zibonele FM advertised a post on February 2017 I submitted my CV and my demo, everything was successful even interviews went very well and that’s how I become a radio presenter.
WHAT DO YOU DO ON RADIO?
I am a radio presenter doing different programmes from Monday to Friday. On Mondays from 20:30 to 00:00 am doing a programme called “Masifindisane” we learn more about business, school, work and motivate. Tuesdays & Thursdays from 12:00 to 15:00 (Ezophuhliso) Developmental Issues programme where we ask everyone who makes meaningful contribution and development in his or her community to talk about that development on radio. Wednesdays is “Celingoma” music show from 12:00 to15:00 where listeners ask a song and I play it for them on. Fridays its “Friday Dedications” (Imibuliso) from 12:00 to 15:00 where listeners send messages of greetings to their family and friends and also birthday wishes.
Through these programmes I meet a lot of important people like Mr. Luvuyo Rani co-founder of Silulo Ulutho Technologies, former minister of communication Ms. Faith Muthambi and a lot of celebrities like pastor Benjamin Dube and Jabu Hlongwane from Joyous Celebration and many more.
