Post school Journey
After graduating in matric, in 2008 I attended college of Cape Town in Gugulethu Compus where I only did my N4 and dropped out due to financial constraints. But my dream to further my studies never deferred as I completed my university studies at UWC in the Western Cape Province where I obtained three year degree in barchelor of administration in 2015.
When did you discover the radio talent in you?
When I was ten years old in 1996 when my elders were trying and struggling to take the cows to the kraal with excitement I was unnecessarily shouting and directing every one. In the same event one of my grandfather brothers rebuked me and say (sukuba-ngumsasazi) which may literally mean do not be an announcer. That is when I can say my radio talent was discovered.
My first attempt to be on the radio as news reader was in 2008 when the then Radio Zibonele advertised this post. However I did not succeed because I submitted my CV the day after the due date. Pastor T Selepe who was the presenter at the time told me that I must never give up and keep on waiting for another opportunity that might be available. Indeed such opportunity came again in 2017 and I used it successfully as I became a news reader.
What do you do on radio?
I am writing, translating, producing, collecting and reading the news from different areas of society. On Sunday between 18:00 to 19:00 I co-host the political education programme called Imfunalwazi kwezopolitiko. In this field I have conducted different interviews with various people from all works of life to count the few; the then ANC SG Gwede Mantashe, Musioua Lekota, General Bantu Holomisa Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma and many more.
My motto says:
When the only weapon you have is a hammer you will treat everything as a nail.
